Carla focuses her practice on data protection and information security, including legal aspects of data collection and processing, design and implementation of privacy and security policies, audits and risk assessments in these matters, implementation of effective data transfer strategies, compliance programmes, among others.
She previously worked in the Ministry of Interior on technological projects for crime prevention and the implementation of the law of digital transformation for more than 1,000 state bodies. She also actively participated in the drafting of the associated regulations on cybersecurity and information security and authentication, leading the drafting of the law that modified its deadlines and stages of implementation.
She has extensive experience in information technologies, including topics such as open data, interoperability, electronic records and technology procurement, digital transformation, artificial intelligence and cybersecurity. Her experience also includes intellectual property, uses of blockchain technology and smart contracts.
Carla is a member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals.
